You may provide a URL which links to your profile, or a website which is central to your work

When you registered, you told us about a particular technology, project, service or idea you'd like to learn about, or which you'd like to present to fellow participants. Briefly, again, what was that?
Hal Plotkin is the founder of ReelChanges.org, which debuts in beta mode on May 1, 2008.

The ReelChanges.org website facilitates tax deductible public microfinancing of quality-screened documentary projects.

The ReelChanges project was created by the Center for Media Change, Inc. as an experimental new "bottom-up" business model designed to finance the creation and distribution of high-quality journalism using a new "crowd-funding" technology platform that also reduces and redefines the role of traditional gatekeepers such as network owners, publishers and advertisers
What resource, person, organization or company would you like to see participating in NewsTools2008 in order to spur the transformation of journalism?
We seek partners in building, deploying and using our disruptive technology to the greater benefit of journalism.
How do you define "journalism that matters," and please suggest ways for journalists and technologists to collaborate (structure, events, groups, processes) in ways mostly likely to sustain it.
Journalism matters if it has high professional standards and an appreciative, interested audience.

Ways to collaborate at the conference:

I hope those of us who have working tools or platforms will be able to demo them to others who might be interested.

Hal: That's great. Our panel is really full, but the panel will be very interactive so I'll get you involved from the floor as we talk about that project. Cheers.

Hal: I'm hoping you'll bring your vantage point as someone running a documentary site to our discussion Saturday on emerging for-profit business models, which includes Current TV. Although your effort is nonprofit, I believe there is shared ground and your take is valued. I'll be moderating and, if you touch base just before the discussion, I'd like to include you in the discussion of documentaries from online and TV use. Cheers, Tom
