When you registered, you told us about a particular technology, project, service or idea you'd like to learn about, or which you'd like to present to fellow participants. Briefly, again, what was that?
Systems supporting local contextual advertising (online & mobile), anything mobile, "wetware upgrades"
What resource, person, organization or company would you like to see participating in NewsTools2008 in order to spur the transformation of journalism?
Matt Waite, Someone from Apple's iPhone development team, and someone from Nokia marketing so I can scream at them about how they're really screwing up with how the N95 is getting distributed and serviced in the US.
How do you define "journalism that matters," and please suggest ways for journalists and technologists to collaborate (structure, events, groups, processes) in ways mostly likely to sustain it.
Relevance, findability, accuracy, transparency, and coherence over time.
collaboration: I actually think local groups/gatherings could provide more ongoing development and infrastructure: journogekk mashups, kind of like a cross between meetups and barcamp, but where geeks and journos (professional and otherwise) collaborate.
